Researches Interest
My research interest lies in understanding the geochemical role of fluids in the Earth system, especially in studying the relationship between the microscopic properties and macroscopic processes. This interest has spawned research at molecular level, at thermodynamic level and at the geological level. At molecular level, I have been focused on investigating the physicochemical properties of geological fluids and melts under various conditions through computer simulation with molecular dynamics (MD) or ab initio simulation. The simulation results are analyzed at thermodynamics level. Equation of state (EOS), chemical equilibrium and phase equilibrium analyses and other thermodynamics tools are adopted to integrate both the simulation and experimental data for the top level – geological level. At this level, theoretical model are developed for different geological environment and tested against geologic records.
